샌딩 작업 시 가장 어려운 문제는 역시 나무 먼지일 것입니다.

저 역시 샌딩할 때 집진장치 없이 마스크에만 의지하고 작업을 하는데요. 실내에서도 샌딩이 가능하다고 광고하는 집진장치와 셋트로 판매되는 헤펠레 샌더도 먼지를 완벽히 잡아내지는 못합니다. 또한 샌더에 연결된 집진 호스는 작업을 하는 동안 매우 걸리적거리죠. 이런 아이디어를 통해 그런 불편함은 조금 개선되지 않을까 생각합니다.

I sand a lot of projects at my workbench. The problem is that the power cord and the dust collection hose of the sander are always in my way. Either they’re tugging as they hook on the edge of the bench, or they trip me up as they snake around my feet. I decided to solve this frustrating problem once and for all.

저는 작업대에서 샌딩 작업을 많이 합니다. 문제는 샌더의 전원 코드와 집진 호스가 항상 저를 방해한다는 것입니다. 작업대의 끝에 코드 선이 걸려 잡아당기거나, 아니면 제 발 주위를 뱀처럼감아 올리면서 저를 넘어뜨리거나요. 저는 이 답답한 문제를 완전히 해결하기로 결심했어요.

 

 

 

The answer came in the form of a swinging arm. With the help of an eye bolt and hook-and-loop strap, it holds the cord and hose up out of the way. The arm swings freely because it’s attached to a disc that rides on a lazy Susan. And, as the photo shows, the lazy Susan is attached to another disc that’s mounted on a post.

답은 움직이는 팔의 형태로 나왔습니다. 아이볼트와 후크 앤 루프 스트랩으로 코드와 호스를 방해하지 않도록 잡아줍니다. 그 팔은 회전판을 부착한 디스크에 고정되어 있기 때문에 자유롭게 움직입니다. 그리고 사진에서 보듯이, 회전판은 기둥에 장착된 다른 디스크에 부착되어 있습니다.
